MISSION STATEMENT 

Through the medium of music, we will magnify the Lord, mature the saints and minister to the masses, using songs of praise and worship, testimony, psalms, and hymns. We will strive to mirror the multitudes in heaven by maintaining a music ministry that welcomes all nations of peoples through music of different styles. We will provide musical leadership in the church setting and support the overall ministry of the church in a spirit of excellence.

Worship Ministry Objectives:

  • Produce an atmosphere conducive for corporate worship
  • Promote spiritual growth of members
  • Encourage faithful, committed service in music ministry
  • Provide opportunities for training and fellowship

Randy Jackson - Biography
Minister of Music

Randy L. Jackson was born in, and grew up in Houston, Texas.  He began studying music when he was 4 years old.  Randy graduated High School from G. C. Scarborough, Houston, Texas.  Just after, he enrolled in the Texas Southern University Summer Music Theory program.
His professional experience includes work with some of Houston’s greats, such as: Mrs. Myra Banks and Mr. Willie Thornton, as well as many others in the Houston area.  Some of his other accomplishments include, but are not limited to:

  • Past participant in the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) founded by the late Rev. James Cleveland
  • The City Wide Crusade Choir directed by Sis. Lillian Mitchell and the late Rev. Andrew Berry
  • A part of the Choraleers led by Sis. Kathy Taylor-Brown
  • Served as a musician for the Texas Southeast Jurisdiction State Choir of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) Inc.
  • He has also accompanied Bro. Hanq Neal and the late Sis. Carolyn Allen Simmons on their recordings

Randy L. Jackson has accompanied many of Houston’s finest and has conducted music workshops throughout the State of Texas. Prior to coming to Galilee, Randy was the Minister of Music at Christian Hope Baptist Church for 25 years.

In his spare time, Randy enjoys traveling, and coaching aspiring church musicians. Randy is married to Mrs. Sharunda Jackson; they have two beautiful children, Paige and Randy, Jr.
God has certainly given Randy Jackson a special gift and he proudly honors Him and dedicates every performance to God and his mother.

 
 
 

Mass Choir

  • Consists of volunteer adult men and women
  • Minister during the first and fourth Sunday worship services, other special services and outside engagements requested by the Pastor or Minister of Music.
  • Rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday before the first and fourth Sundays at 7pm.

Male Chorus

  • Consists of adult men, young adult men, and youth
  • Minister once a month on the third Sunday Worship Service, other special services and outside engagements requested by the Pastor or Minister of Music.
  • Rehearse the Tuesday and Thursday before the third Sunday at 7pm.

Women’s Chorus

  • Consists of adult women ages 18 and up.
  • Minister every fifth Sunday
  • Rehearse once a month on the Tuesday and Thursday before the fifth Sunday at 7pm.

Children of God (children’s choir)

  • Participants are children from ages 5 to 12 years of age.
  • Ministers once a month during morning worship every second Sunday.
  • Rehearse the two Thursdays before the second Sunday from 6pm to 7:00pm

Young Voices of Praise

  • Consists of youth from ages 12 to 25
  • Ministers once a month during morning worship every second Sunday.
  • Rehearse two Thursdays before the second Sunday at 7pm.
